Manuel Muñoz Barberán
Exhibition of the year 2000
Lorca, May 26, 1921 – Murcia December 1, 2007Artist of wide records and definite style, he took the figurative painting as an aesthetic north, inside the postimpressionism, and the light as allied to shape volumes, to suggest levels and to provide his creations of a particular atmosphere. Notable his contribution to the religious painting of Murcia, the pictorial kinds for which he is more well known are the landscapes in all the aspects to which he incorporated new points of view and formats. His facet of writer and historical investigator is developed, principally, across collaborations in press. He is granted numerous recognitions, the last one in 2008, posthumously, the Golden medal of the Region of Murcia.
